Subject: Devotional | December 12 | morning (full)
For the remainder of 2019, devotionals will have only a reading from the Psalms. On January 1, 2020, we will begin a new 3 year reading cycle with daily readings from the Psalms, New Testament, and Old Testament. Rejoice and be glad, for your father invites you into his loving presence. Use this email as you are able, in whole or in part. Call to PrayerLord, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress. (Isaiah 33:2) Opening PrayerLord Jesus Christ, who stretched out his arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen. (BCP 58) Confession of SinGod of grace, you love us, but we have not loved you. You call, but we have not listened. We walk away from neighbors in need, wrapped up in our own concerns. By our actions and our attitudes we praise what you condemn. Help us to admit our sin, so that as you come to us in mercy we may repent, turn to you, and receive forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen. Take a moment to confess your sins, knowing that he hears you. Praying the PsalmsPsalm 341 I will extol the Lord at all times; 4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me; 8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; 15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, 17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; 19 The righteous person may have many troubles, 21 Evil will slay the wicked; Prayers of IntercessionRelationships
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. BenedictionMay the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (2 Corinthians 13:14) Wonder what your next step in spiritual formation is? Consider getting involved in a community group.
