Subject: Devotional | December 11 | morning (full)
For the remainder of 2019, devotionals will have only a reading from the Psalms. On January 1, 2020, we will begin a new 3 year reading cycle with daily readings from the Psalms, New Testament, and Old Testament. Enter into this time expectantly, knowing that God delights to reveal himself to you. Use this email as you are able, in whole or in part. Call to PrayerThe Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him. (Habakkuk 2:20) Opening PrayerGive us grace, O Lord, to answer readily the call of our Savior Jesus Christ and proclaim to all people the Good News of his salvation, that we and the whole world may perceive the glory of his marvelous works; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. (BCP 215) Confession of SinGod of grace, you love us, but we have not loved you. You call, but we have not listened. We walk away from neighbors in need, wrapped up in our own concerns. By our actions and our attitudes we praise what you condemn. Help us to admit our sin, so that as you come to us in mercy we may repent, turn to you, and receive forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen. Take a moment to confess your sins, knowing that he hears you. Praying the PsalmsPsalm 321 Blessed is the one 3 When I kept silent, 5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you 6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; 11 Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; Prayers of IntercessionChurch Community
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. BenedictionMay the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (2 Corinthians 13:14) Wonder what your next step in spiritual formation is? Consider getting involved in a community group.
