Subject: Devotional | November 27 | morning (full)
For the remainder of 2019, devotionals will have only a reading from the Psalms. On January 1, 2020, we will begin a new 3 year reading cycle with daily readings from the Psalms, New Testament, and Old Testament. Enter into this time expectantly, knowing that God delights to reveal himself to you. Use this email as you are able, in whole or in part. Call to PrayerThe Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him. (Habakkuk 2:20) Opening PrayerKeep, O Lord, your household the Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. (BCP 230) Confession of SinAlmighty God, to know you is the fulfillment of our deepest longings and the satisfaction of our most ardent desires. Yet foolishly we have sought our pleasures elsewhere. We have put the seeking of idols, which are bound to leave us feeling empty, above seeking you. We have failed to love you with our whole heart, soul, and mind. We have failed to love our neighbors as ourselves. Forgive us our sins for the sake of your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. And grant that from now on we might serve you in newness of life. Amen. Take a moment to confess your sins, knowing that he hears you. Praying the PsalmsPsalm 14For the director of music. Of David. 1 The fool says in his heart, 2 The Lord looks down from heaven 4 Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread; 7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! Prayers of IntercessionChurch Community
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. BenedictionMay the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (2 Corinthians 13:14) Wonder what your next step in spiritual formation is? Consider getting involved in a community group.
