Opening Prayer

Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings with your most gracious favor, and further us with your continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify your holy Name, and finally, by your mercy, obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP 832)

Scripture Reading

John 1:4-8

4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

Reflection Questions

1. What was the name of the man that God sent?

2. How do you think John felt as a witness to the light? What do you think that means?

3. Have you ever been a witness to the light by sharing about Jesus with friends or family members?

Kid’s Catechism #70

Q: How is Christ your prophet?
A: Because He teaches me the will of God.

Prayer of Intercession

Work/School

  • Lord, help us to be focused and diligent with our work and school work. Help us to honor and glorify you by working hard and giving our best.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
