Opening Prayer

Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings with your most gracious favor, and further us with your continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify your holy Name, and finally, by your mercy, obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP 832)

Scripture Reading

Philippians 2:5-7

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.

Reflection Questions

1. What did Christ make himself?

2. What does it mean for Christ to be a servant? What do you think that looks like?

3. Has anyone ever done something for you, even though they didn’t have to? How did that make you feel?

Kid’s Catechism #50

Q: How could Christ suffer?
A: Christ, the Son of God, became a man so that he could obey and suffer in our place.

Prayer of Intercession

Work/School

  • Pray that we can honor God through our lives as students. Pray that we will reflect God in our interactions we have at school with teachers, classmates and other staff members.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
