Opening Prayer

Lord, we ask you to keep your church and household continually in your true religion; that they who lean only upon hope of your heavenly grace may always be defended by your mighty power; through Christ our Lord. Amen. (adapted from Cranmer Collect)

Scripture Reading

Galatians 6:7-8

7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Reflection Questions

1. What does a man reap when he sows to please the Spirit?

2. How does it feel to do things only to please ourselves?

3. What does it look like for you to sow to please the Spirit? Give an example from a time you have done something to please God, and not just yourself.

Kid’s Catechism #32

Q: What does every sin deserve?
A: The wrath and curse of God.

Prayer of Intercession

Church Community

  • Pray that our families will be committed to the spiritual formation of every member of the family.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
