Opening Prayer

Lord, we ask you to keep your church and household continually in your true religion; that they who lean only upon hope of your heavenly grace may always be defended by your mighty power; through Christ our Lord. Amen. (adapted from Thomas Cranmer collect)

Scripture Reading

Psalm 139:1-2, 6

1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

Reflection Questions

1. According to the passage, what are some things that God knows about you?

2. How does the writer, David, feel about God knowing everything about us? Why?

3. Think about someone in your life who knows you well. Is it your mom and dad? A friend? Now thank God that he knows you even better!

Kid’s Catechism #12

Q: Does God know all things?
A: Yes. Nothing can be hidden from God.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Church Community

  • Thank God that he knows and loves everyone in your church community: the adults you see at service, your friends in Sunday school and the people in your community group.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
