Subject: West Side Update — June 13
13 June 2016
Stories of Renewal is a series of video vignettes that highlight how God is using Redeemer’s vision to write stories of gospel renewal in the lives of people in New York City.
In this story, Rich shares about the work that did in his church plant Restoration Church in the Bronx, and in his own life. Learn more about Stories of Renewal at changedlives.redeemer.com.
The West Side Café will resume again in the fall.
The West Side Café is an open space for seekers, skeptics and those considering Christianity to engage with and process the Christian faith. Each week will involve a short presentation and discussion addressing topics of interest and claims of the Christian faith. For more info, visit redeemer.com/wscafe.
As a church of Jesus Christ, Redeemer exists to help build a great city for all people through a movement of the gospel that brings personal conversion, community formation, social justice and cultural renewal to New York City and, through it, to the world.
Last Sunday at our worship services, we celebrated, thanked and prayed for Pamela Brown-Peterside, who for the last eight years has served on the Redeemer staff. Pamela will be moving to London by the end of the summer to be closer to family and care for her mother. Her passion for and dedication to the importance of community will be missed. Reverend Bijan Mirtolooi has assumed Pamela’s responsibility of overseeing our Community Group system and, in addition, will continue to build the West Side Congregation’s classes and seminars (what we called Public Discipleship in the Rise Campaign). I am also pleased to announce the hiring of Joe Yu to the role of Community Group Director, and he will join our team later this month. Joe recently served as the Director of our Youth Ministry and brings with him six years of ministry experience to his new role.
Please pray for Pamela as she makes this big transition and for our Community Group team as they continue to shepherd our congregation.
