Hello ,

Years ago, my family traveled to Yosemite in California. I remember one particular vista where I called over to my brother to join me in gazing at the view in front of me. What was I doing at that moment? Evangelism! I was so captured by the beauty and glory of what I was seeing that I wanted to share that experience with others.

Redeemer has always been a place that has intentionally designed its activities to be accessible to those who don’t share our beliefs. We want everyone to have an opportunity to look out over the horizon of their lives and see the beauty, glory, majesty and love of Jesus. So as we reaffirm our core commitments during this Rise season, let me encourage you to think about your own circle of friends and family who don’t know Jesus. Here are three things you can do:

1. Evangelize your own heart regularly with the gospel through personal and corporate worship. Let God’s grace humble and motivate you as you rediscover what a powerful gift it is to call God your Father.
2. Pray regularly for one or two individuals who don’t know Jesus
3. Invite one of them to church for Easter or to the West Side Café, or find another way to thoughtfully share your faith with them.

And pray that as we move into this new chapter through the Rise Campaign, the Redeemer community would have the humility, courage and hope to invite people to "taste and see" God’s goodness (Psalm 34:8).

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. - 1 Peter 3:15

Sharing the grace, hope and love of the gospel must be part of everything we do. And as we carry the gospel with us in our daily lives, we need to be open and engaging about our personal faith in our friendships with both Christians and those who are not. Pray that God would give you deep lasting relationships with people in every sector of your life where you can regularly and thoughtfully share the life-giving hope of the gospel with them.
  • Father, strengthen my relationships with my friends who don't know You and give me a heart that loves them and engages them with the hope of the gospel.
  • Father, help our Neighborhood Gatherings, our worship services and Community Groups to be places where people who do not believe like us feel welcome and comfortable sharing their questions and concerns about Christianity.
  • Father, energize us to invest ourselves, wherever we live and work in this city, to have deep genuine friendships with people of other beliefs.
Holy Week is one week away. Consider inviting a friend to one of our five Easter services: 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 5 p.m., or 6:45 p.m.
  • During Holy Week, our sanctuary will be open for reflection and prayer on Good Friday, from 12 to 3 p.m., and there will be two Good Friday services at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
